Indicative only. BAS due dates shown are for self-lodgers — if you use a BAS/tax agent you may get an extension. Amounts saved should ideally sit in a separate high-interest account so they're not accidentally spent. This tool doesn't send any data anywhere — your tracker uses local device storage only.

What are common quarterly tax due dates?
AU BAS (self-lodger): Q1 28 Oct, Q2 28 Feb, Q3 28 Apr, Q4 28 Jul. BAS agents get ~4 weeks extra.
US estimated tax: Q1 15 Apr, Q2 15 Jun, Q3 15 Sep, Q4 15 Jan.
UK Payments on Account: 31 Jan and 31 Jul each year.
CA instalments (individuals): 15 Mar, 15 Jun, 15 Sep, 15 Dec.
Always verify current dates with your local tax authority.
What’s the best account to save BAS money in?
A separate high-interest savings account (HISA) that isn’t linked to your everyday debit card. Some sole traders use a dedicated "Tax jar" sub-account. The goal is friction — if you can’t tap it for coffee, you won’t. Some traders even open the account with a different bank so it’s truly out of sight.
How do I estimate my next BAS if I don’t know yet?
A common rule of thumb is to look at your last tax bill and divide by 4. For GST-registered AU businesses, set aside 1/11th of GST-inclusive revenue plus a percentage of net profit for income tax. In the US, safe-harbour rules use last year's tax divided into 4. Speak to your accountant for a number that fits your income mix and any deductions.
What if I fall behind on the savings target?
The tool automatically increases the daily amount to catch up. If it becomes unreachable before the due date, use the Tax Payment Planner to compare paying in full, getting on a tax authority payment plan, or selling investments. Contacting your tax authority early is usually much better than missing the due date entirely.
